The thought of the glow of the streetlights at night filtering through the blinds and casting themselves across the living room, each beam contorting to every shape it touched... It is an image I grew to associate with not just the night itself but with the ease of its silence as well, and it is an image that has kept me company throughout the toughest years of my life.

Being able to lie down on the couch, reflect, and feel sad on your own terms is a wonderful thing. The picture may seem gloomy, yet it represents a more powerful comfort than I have ever felt.
