You bellow out your best imitation of what you imagine a gigantic crab-monster probably sounds like, and heroically attempt to establish dominance over the massive beast before you!

Oh. That's what they sound like. Man, you were way off.

Unfortunately, you have rolled a critical failure on your bluff check. Rather than intimidate and frighten the beast, your defiant roar has only agitated it!

Suddenly and without warning, the beast’s claw descends upon your soft and supple face! You narrowly weave out of its trajectory, just barely saving your stylish hair from being severed.

>>Attack the big thing, show no fear!!

Just as it gets ready to swipe at you again, you dive betwixt its legs and make a dash for the opening that it entered from! Perhaps here, you will have a better vantage point from which to attack it! At the very least, back here there isn’t a risk of backing up into a roaring fire.

You retreat into the center of the area past the opening. Just like before in the pit, the only way out would be to climb the walls, and you aren’t that fast a climber. Four flimsy-looking pillars of rock seem to support the roof above you, and ropes and debris dangle from the ceiling. Unlike the rest of the cavern, this place has a very manmade feel to it.

The giant crab-monster is slowly advancing upon you, and you finally really prepare yourself for combat!
